Fuel Management for Airports and Airfields

Real Time, Web Based Fuel Management for the Airports and Airfields, Aircraft and ground equipment

System Features

  • The real time site view shows activity on the fuelling site as it occurs. Any problems with dispensers are immediately obvious.

  • The system will generate monthly reports and distribute them automatically, leaving the user free to concentrate on managing issues raised rather than moving paper.

  • The system automatically generates real-time fuelling information highlighting vehicles, aircraft and people drawing excessive amounts of fuel. The web service lets you quickly delve into the data behind these issues.

  • Using the accounts feature, it is simple to set up customer transaction reports to generate invoicing information.

  • Multiple sites can be managed easily so vehicles/ Aircraft/ Plant can fuel anywhere in the network and still have a single consolidated billing report.

Aircraft Refuelling

The Jigsaw system can manage fuellings where aircraft can draw up to the pumps at the fuel island, but because it uses mobile phone data communications, it is also excellent when used in mobile refuelling installations.

The Nature and size of a typical airfield mean that it is sometimes difficult to arrange network services or phone lines on the fuel island, so using mobile phone data communications means that fuelling services can be installed where needed, not just where it’s convenient to do so.

Also, as Airfields evolve and change, fuelling points may be moved with little regard to the data communications needed.

Ground Support Equipment

The Jigsaw system can also fuel any ground support equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, reach stackers, straddle carriers etc. If the support equipment isn’t easily movable, or it’s impractical to bring it to a fuelling point, then the Jigsaw system may be built onto a mobile Fuel Bowser. Boats and Dockside equipment can coexist in the same fleet making complete site refuelling control simple and easy to manage.

Fuelling Web Service

The fleet, whether aircraft or land-based equipment, is listed and managed on the website. Setting the acceptable fuel types and the maximum delivery and prompting for engine hours or mileages as appropriate means that fuelling is carried out efficiently and that all the relevant data is stored against each fuelling

As each aircraft, piece of ground equipment or vehicle in the fleet is added, it can be assigned to groups so that reports and invoices may be raised at the end of a period using percentage on costs or fixed litre pricing.

Details of each fuelling transaction – date and time, vehicle, driver and fuel quantity- are viewable through the website and may be included in user reports.

Any reports which need to be generated daily, weekly or monthly can be configured as required and automatically generated and distributed.

Get in Touch:

Jigsaw Systems may be configured in many different ways to suit your business. If you don’t see exactly what you need here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The system has been developed with the help of end users in each market sector so we are confident that we can cover any requirements with our systems.

Not just fuel…

The Jigsaw system can also control and measure hydraulic or engine oils drawn or water. So long as there is a way of controlling the flow and measuring how much is delivered, the system will manage the product and assign it for charging to an account.

Options to consider

  • When setting up groups on the system, set one aside for the various Aircraft owners so that transactions may be listed in groups for fuel billing purposes.

  • If fuel is to be sold in smaller quantities, then it is probable that you will need a MID (Weights and Measures) approved pump and Fuel Management system. The Jigsaw system is fully approved for fuel resale.

  • Tank Gauging is a recommended add-on to the system for the best stock management as it confirms the book stock level and makes quick deliveries, fuel theft, and bad pump calibration obvious and quick to spot.

  • The fuel management system isn’t restricted to aircraft or ground equipment – consider a consolidated fuelling solution across the whole site, static and mobile, ground equipment and aircraft.

  • Make sure that emergency fuel flow controls are considered. Long hoses dragged across airport aprons can lead to fuel spills, and the emergency pump stops, and dry break hose couplings should be used.

  • The Jigsaw FuelWand may be considered when fuelling ground equipment. The fueller puts the hose in the tank and then reads a tag fixed to the equipment to start fuel flow. This puts the fueller in control of the hose at all times, reducing the possibility of spills.
